Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has asked the state House of Assembly to approve his request to obtain a N2 billion housing development loan from the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
Suraj Adekunbi, the Speaker, read the letter from the governor to the lawmakers during the plenary in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Tuesday.
Adekunbi said the loan being sought through the State Housing Corporation was meant to provide affordable houses for the citizens of the state.
Amosun also sent a letter intimating the House of a bill for a law to amend the Ogun State Parks and Garages Development Board Law, 2006.
Meanwhile, a bill, tagged HB NO 31/OG/2013, seeking the amendment of the Pension Reform Law 2013, has passed through first reading at the plenary.
The amendment bill was meant to address grey areas in the pension law with a view to meeting current challenges.
