An exciting blend of live basketball games and musical performances from select artistes await fans this weekend at the DStv Basketball League All-Star, which will take place at the University of Lagos Sports Hall, Akoka, Lagos.
Speaking on the upcoming basketball all-star throw down, Martin Mabutho, the General Manager, Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria, stated: “The All Star Games is a way of celebrating the mid-point of the tournament, and re-energising for the forthcoming games. The proposed All-Star event this year already has the makings to be bigger and better than last year’s. In addition to featuring top players from the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences of the DStv Premier Basketball League, we will also have Nollywood actors and music icons like Patoranking, Oritse Femi, Sean Tizzle, Phyno, among others in attendance.”
Mabutho further explained that the teams made up of on air personalities from Beat FM and Channel O will slug it out in this year’s games.
He also highlighted: “One of our major focus areas in MultiChoice, is sports development. We know that basketball is a lifestyle sport, which is highly entertaining. It is that excitement that we want to bring to Nigeria. We want basketball to be associated with fun, excitement and family time.”
MultiChoice Nigeria is the headline sponsor of the DStv Premier Basketball League. Sponsorship of basketball by MultiChoice also involves live coverage of league games by SuperSport, throughout the tournament.
