Nigeria’s hip hop singer, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has reacted to the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, with Mohbad as stage name, three days after he died.
The Eagle Online recalls that Mohbad died on Tuesday, with some accusing Naira Marley of having a role in his death.
This followed the falling out of the duo in 2022, with Mohbad, also addressed as Imole, quitting Naira Marley’s record label, Marlian Music.
Speaking on the death of Mohbad in a statement on Friday, Naira Marley said he was more that an artist or a signee to him.
He described Imole as a brother and dear friend.
In the statement on his Instagram handle, he further described Mohbad as “an incredible street pop star who contributed to the foundation of the Marlian Music”.
