Mikel likens Chinese club to Chelsea

John Mikel Obi has claimed the coaching at his new club Tianjin Teda is just as good as at Chelsea.
Obi left Chelsea for Tianjin Teda this month, signing a £140,000-a-week deal with the Chinese Super League club.
The Nigeria international’s new boss is former Porto midfielder, Jaime Pacheco, who has had 10 different managerial appointments in 13 years.
Obi had grown accustomed to top class managers at Chelsea such as Jose Mourinho, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Antonio Conte.
However, the Nigerian has admitted he’s been impressed by the level of coaching in the up-and-coming Chinese Super League.
“I do not think there’s a lot of difference in the level of coaches now,” Mikel told Chinese outlet, NetEase Sports.
“I think [Jaime] Pacheco is a high-level coach and he was a very good player.
“Training is done very well, with a very high level.”
Obi joined Tianjin Teda on a two-year deal until December 2019.
He joins former Blues teammates, Oscar and Ramires, who have already made big-money moves to the Far East.
