Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel netted his first goal in six months as Tianjin Teda were beaten 4-2 by Shanghai Shenhua on game week 27 in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
Another bolt of worries over injury has hit Tianjin Teda of China midfielder, John Mikel Obi, following his absence from action with the Chinese Super League club last weekend.
Mikel said: “I have been in the national team since 2005 and I haven’t seen this discipline before.
“It is meetings, being on time, the training, but in 2014, the team was a disaster.
Obi currently plies his trade as a midfielder for Chinese club Tianjin TEDA.
Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor on Tuesday said: “We all had been hoping that the renewal would come in good time for him to fly to Poland. As it is now, it is not likely that he would make the trip.”
Ideye becomes the club’s fifth winter signing after Ignasi Miquel from CD Lugo, Chile international Manuel Iturra from Club Necaxa, Alberto Bueno and Samu García on loans from Porto and Levante respectively.
