Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has denied the ongoing rumour of having issues with her hotelier husband, Lanre Gentry.
The report had claimed that Aigbe was publicly disgraced by her husband during an event organized by Oodua Television in her honour in Lagos.
The popular actress is yet to recover from the shock.
Aigbe was the special guest of Oodua Television during a monthly Yoruba language programme titled: Amounmaworan.
Aigbe said there was no iota of truth in the story reported last week by an online blog, www.stelladimokokorkus.com.
Aigbe said: “I did not vanish from the venue as the report claimed.
“I only went to a room reserved for me by the management of Oodua TV as their special guest to change into a more comfortable dress.
“I did not even go alone.
“I went with two of my personal assistants.”
Aigbe added that she felt tired and uncomfortable after dancing for a while and had to retire into the reserved room to change into a lighter dress.
When asked if her husband truly lost his temper and dragged her out of the guest room as claimed in the report, she said it was a lie.
Aigbe said further: “I left the venue of the show in company with my husband; my friend, Faith Irabor; and my personal assistants.”
Gentry has, however, not spoken about the episode.
Neither has there been denials about the fact that Aigbe and Gentry went to the venue of the event in different cars.
Aigbe also did not disclose the kind of comfortable clothes she changed into as the story alleged she was spotted lying down on a couch in the office of the owner of Oodua Television in what appeared to be a night dress.
