The meeting between the managements of Rangers FC and Warri Wolves FC over who owns Super Eagles Africa Cup of Nations hero, Sunday Mba, ended in a deadlock on Wednesday.
The meeting, held at the Glass House headquarters of the Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja, broke up after the two sides to the dispute could not agree on a letter Rangers said it originated to Warri Wolves on the matter.
Rangers, which originally owned Mba, said it had sent a letter to the management of Warri Wolves withdrawing the provisional offer of transfer of Mba to Warri Wolves.
But the management of Warri Wolves denied receiving such a letter.
It was at this stage that the meeting was adjourned till Thursday for continuation at 12pm.
Lagos State-based lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, was a part of the Rangers team to the meeting.
The NFF Director of Competitions, Mohammed Sanusi, was at the head of the football house’s team.
Mba has been declared by the NFF to be the property of Warri Wolves.
But last week, he showed up at the camp of Enugu Rangers where he was presented with the club’s jersey.
He was given jersey number 8.
