Floyd Mayweather has blasted Manny Pacquiao anew, saying that the Filipino ring icon is using his name to promote his next fight.
In a conversation with fighthype.com, Mayweather once again denied that he is negotiating a rematch with Pacquiao for the latter’s ring return next year.
“I’m in different cities in different countries and I hear people talking about Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2. I guess people forgot about those different ESPN commercials. ‘He really wants to fight? He’s scared of me. He don’t really want to fight.’ They forgot about those ESPN commercials,” said Mayweather.
“It’s all bulls—. What they’re doing is this, once again, piggybacking off my name to sell pay-per-view numbers when he do go out there and fight again.”
Mayweather, who retired from boxing after his lopsided win against Andre Berto in September, said the first bout was not the kind of fight that warrants a rematch.
“Once again, I dissected this fighter, the so-called best fighter of our generation. I dissected him; probably was 10 to 2, really 11 to 1, but it’s safe to say 10 to 2,” says Mayweather.
“Mayweather is so boring, he’s this, he’s that! I’m boring enough to do the biggest and the best numbers in pay-per-view history.”
