Anthony Martial has ended speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Manchester United worth £200,000 a week.
The Frenchman, whose previous deal was due to expire next summer, has now committed himself to United until the end of the 2023-24 season.
Martial’s improved contract also includes the option of a further year, which could take his stay at Old Trafford to a decade.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Martial said: “I am loving my time at this club.
“From the day I joined I have been made to feel part of the United family and I have been incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the warmth and love of our fans, who continue to amaze me with their support.
“I would like to thank Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me to take my game to the next level. This club is all about winning trophies and I am sure the next piece of silverware is not that far away.”
Solskjaer paid tribute to Martial, who has helped him win eight and draw one of his first nine games in charge since replacing Jose Mourinho in December.
“Anthony is one of those naturally gifted players that any coach would love to work with,” Solskjaer said.
