A 30-year-old man, Femi Balogun, was, on Tuesday, arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N350, 000.
Femi, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a count charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Insp Benson Emuehi, said that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 20, at 10 a.m.
Emuehi told the court that the defendant stole the sum of N350, 000, property of one Rebecca Emem.
He said that the offence contravened Section 287 and was contrary to Section 280 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2015.
The Magistrate, M.A. Adegbaye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Opeyemi said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have evidence of two years’ tax payment to Lagos government.
The magistrate, thereafter, adjourned the case till March 28, for mention.
