One of Nigeria’s flag-bearers in the Orange/CAF Confederation cup, Lobi Stars of Makurdi, on Friday crashed out of the competition in the very first round.
The Mozambican Cup champions, Liga Desportivo Muçulmana de Maputo, humiliated Lobi Stars in the second leg, first round match with six goals to one.
Three weeks ago, in the first leg match decided at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, Bauchi State, the Mozambican side rattled Lobi with an early goal before Dominic Iorfa rallied his troops and goals from Osas Aigbe, John Lawrence as well as Eze Stephen ensured a 3-1 victory on matchday.
Lobi Stars lost out on 7-4 aggregate.
The home side, according to reports reaching us, scored three goals from penalty while Nigerian side also played with 10 men for the better part of the match due to red card.
