The Benin, Edo State branch of the Nigerian Bar Association says its members may boycott courts in the state following the abduction of a High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa.
The planned boycott is contained in a statement issued by the Benin NBA Chairman, Oriane Akere, on Friday in Benin.
The statement urged the state government and security agencies to live up to their responsibilities.
It also urged for proactive measures towards checking crime and criminal activities in the state.
Justice Okungbowa was abducted by armed men on September 23 at Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area.
Meanwhile, judges in the state have boycotted court sittings to protest the abduction.
