Lalong swears in 23 new commissioners, three perm secs 

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau on Thursday swore in 23 new commissioners and three permanent secretaries, three weeks after he dissolved the entire cabinet.
Lalong had dissolved the cabinet and expanded the government machinery from 17 ministries to 23 in February.
Out of the 17 commissioners that were sacked, nine were reappointed.
The governor, in a brief speech at the ceremony, said that he dissolved the last cabinet to reorder priorities and introduce a new direction to governance.
He charged the new commissioners to think outside the box so as to bring in new ideas and solutions that would accelerate delivery of dividends of democracy to Plateau citizens.
He, however, ordered that financial discipline and budget intelligence must be applied to reduce needless expenditure on overheads.
The governor stated that the creation of additional ministries was to strengthen and accelerate the machinery of service delivery within record time.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Yakubu Datti, the immediate past Corporate Affairs Manager of Federal Airports Authority, was posted to the information ministry while Dayyabu Garga was reappointed as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Dan Manjang, hitherto Lalong’s Special Adviser on Media, is now the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Kunden Kamshak, health, while David Wuyep was reappointed water resources commissioner.
Others included: Elizabeth Wapmuk, Higher Education, Dr Regina Soemlat, Finance; Malam Ahmad Nazif, former information commissioner, is now in charge of Transport.
Pam Bot-Mang was posted to works, Christopher Ahmadu is now Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; Sylvester Wallangko, Economic Planning, while Hosea Wallangko is in charge of agriculture.
Others are: Dar Eli, Secondary Education; Ezekiel Daju, Mineral Development; Bulus Bot, Physical Planning; and Anna Izam, Women Affairs.
Lalong also reappointed Festus Fuanter as Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Tamwakat Weli, formerly of finance, now in charge  of Culture and Tourism, Hitler Dadi, Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs; Luka Madaki, Housing; and Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, Environment.
Those sworn in as permanent secretaries were all women – Maram Isaac, Larai Adamu and Mary Afan.
Yakubu Datti, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the governor, government and people of Plateau for the rare priledge to serve, and promised to work collectively toward a better Plateau.
