The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Fatai Owoseni, has appointed DSP Patricia Amadin, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, as new spokesperson for the command.
Amadin, who is occupying the position in acting capacity, replaces DSP Kenneth Nwosu, now redeployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Presenting the new spokesperson to members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, Nwosu said he had been redeployed to Abuja for another assignment.
Nwosu, who commended CRAN members for their support during his six months tenure, urged them to extend same support to the new spokesperson he described as his course mate in the Police Academy.
He apologized to those he may have offended in the cause of duty, stressing that they were not deliberate.
Responding, the new spokesperson said the Police Public Relations office was a familiar terrain as she has once worked in same office as Deputy Police PRO.
Amadin said she still observed the friendliness between the command and journalists assigned to cover the command, calling for more cooperation.
She said: “My calling as PPRO, Lagos Command is to serve to promote the image of the command.
“I call on all journalists for assistance to enable me succeed.
“Journalists should endeavour to always confirm their stories with me to avoid ambiguity.”
The new PPRO could not hold her emotions as she called for a minute silence for late Jude Isiguzo, a crime reporter with the Nation newspaper, who died in November 2014 after brief illness.
Amadin was born on March 17, 1978 in Benin City, Edo State.
She enlisted into the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano on February 1, 2005.

She also has Diploma in Data Processing in same institution between 1994 and 1994 and was at the Federal Government Girl’s College, Benin City from 1988 to 1993.
