The death has occurred of another prominent Kwara State indigene, Justice Tito Daibu, a Judge of the state High Court.
Malam Abdulrahman Daibu, a son and staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria.
He said the deceased died on Monday evening in Abuja during an illness.
NAN reports that the residence of the late Judge, located along Alimi Road, GRA, llorin, started receiving sympathisers very early on Tuesday to pay their last respect and attend the funeral rite.
A gridlock was recorded along the street and its vicinity following large turnout of sympathisers waiting for the arrival of the corpse from Abuja.
Several of the sympathisers, especially women, broke into tears bemoaning the loss of a great philanthropist.
The corpse of Daibu later arrived the residence in a motorcade in company of her husband, Alhaji Lanre Daibu, and relatives.
Reacting to the death, the former Chairman of the llorin branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, AbdulGaniyu Bello, in an interview with NAN, described the demise of Justice Daibu as a great loss to the llorin Emirate and legal profession.
Bello said: “Late Tito Daibu was my mentor.
“In fact, l read Law because of her.
“She assisted the legal profession greatly, but we cannot question the Almighty Allah.”
He prayed Allah to grant her paradise, forgive her shortcomings and give her husband and relations the fortitude to bear the loss.
Similarly, the ex-Chairperson of the Kwara State branch of the Federation of Women Lawyers, Hajia Iyabo Mohammed, described late Daibu as a great philanthropist who had touched many lives.
“My Justice Tito Daibu is an icon, accommodating, humane who had assisted FlDA and legal profession generally.”
Justice Daibu’s death comes a few days after that of the Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Prof. Mohammed Akanbi.
