Kidnappers reduce ransom for Lagos model students

Kidnappers of the six Senior Secondary School students of Igbonla Model College, Epe,Lagos State have reduced the ransom being demanded for their release.
The students were abducted on May 25, 2017 from their school.
The kidnappers, who had earlier demanded for N400 million have now reduced the ransom to N100 million.
Sources said the kidnappers called the parents of the students on Friday evening.
They, however, did not allow the kidnapped students to speak with their parents.
Rather, they urged the distressed parents to work together to raise the money and possibly put pressure on the Lagos State Government to raise the money.
The Lagos State Government has since the inception of the Akinwunmi Ambode administration said it would not pay ransom to kidnappers.
It, however, vowed to work with law enforcement agencies to ensure the prompt and safe release of kidnap victims.
It has also strengthened the anti-kidnapping law in the state.
