The Ivorian Football Federation has shortlisted five persons for the post of head coach of the national team, the Elephants, PANA reported from Abidjan on Tuesday.
The shortlisted candidates are Patrice Neveu, Paolo Duarte, Michel Dussuyer, Henry Kasperczak and Frédéric Antonetti.
FIF said a further shortlist of three candidates will soon be released before the final selection.
Hervé Renard resigned as coach of the Elephants after leading Côte d’Ivoire to its second continental title in February.
Renard is now with French league club, Lille.
However, the name of the coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, is missing from the list.
Keshi was initially listed by FIF as part of those being considered for the position.
Though FIF eventually removed his name from the list of candidates, Keshi’s employer, the Nigeria Football federation, invited him to answer queries on the issue.
Jeshi denied ever applying for the job.
