Kano dismisses four civil servants over alleged misconduct

The Kano State Government has dismissed four staff members of the Bureau for Land Management for allegedly selling public landed properties.

This was contained in a statement in Kano signed by the state Commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba, on Tuesday.

The statement further alleged that the four persons forged documents, issued false cadastral information and falsified official records.

According to Garba, the dismissed officers included Senior Survey Assistant on Salary GL 06, Abdulmuminu Usman-Magami, and Senior Land Officer on Salary GL 10, Abdullahi Idris.

Others were Press Attendant on Salary GL 05, Audu Aliyu, and Assistant Chief Land Officer on Salary GL 13, Baba Audu.

The Commissioner explained that the officials were dismissed based on the recommendations of an Investigative Committee set up by the government, following the complaints levelled against them.

Garba stated that their dismissal was in line with the Civil Service Rule No.04406, adding that the measure was to serve as deterrent to others.

The statement further warned that the state government would not condone any official misconduct from any civil servant.

“All government employees are expected to carry out their responsibilities honestly, diligently, effectively and in accordance with the civil service rules and regulations,” it added.
