Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has eulogized the Chairman of telecommunications giant, Otunba Mike Adenuga, as he turns 60 on Monday.
Kalu, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Oyekunle Oyewumi, described Adenuga as one of the few courageous Nigerians with resilient spirit despite the numerous odds facing businesses in Nigeria.
Oyekunle quoted Kalu as saying of Adenuga: “Our great Otunba has shown that with forthrightness and the never-die-Nigerian spirit, it is possible to achieve what many regard as the impossible.
“This, Otunba Adenuga, you have demonstrated with your many businesses but more so with Glo.
“When it appeared impossible that Nigerians could have cheaper GSM services, you came into the market and crashed the prices with various innovative offerings, especially the per second billing.”
Kalu said a businessman whose only focus is on the maximization of profit will never think like Adenuga, adding: “Your numerous philanthropic gestures stands you out as a distinguished Nigerian.
“As you turn 60, I have no doubt in my mind that you will celebrate many more years in good health as the prayers of Nigerians and many others all over the world, that you have touched in numerous ways, will continue to see you through in life.”
