Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has commiserated with the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, and the people of Ogbomoso in Oyo State over the demise of former Inspector General of Police and Asiwaju of Ogbomosoland, Chief Sunday Adewusi.
Adewusi died on Tuesday at the age of 80.
Kalu acknowledged the contributions of the retired police officer to national development, having served in different capacities in the public sector.
According to the former governor, the passing away of Chief Adewusi was a big loss to the nation as he died at a time his wealth of experience in policing is needed.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said: “He was a gentle officer and easy going.
“The retired inspector general of police served the country passionately in different positions.
“Our prayers and hearts are with the deceased’s family at this sorrowful period.”
The former governor urged the Adewusi family to take solace in the fact that their patriarch lived a purposeful life.
Kalu, while commiserating with the government and people of Oyo State, prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
