Kalu hails reconciliation of Obi, Umeh

In a telephone conversation with international journalists, former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has hailed the reconciliation of Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State and Sir Victor Umeh, the National Chairman of All Peoples Grand Alliance.
Kalu described the move as good for the nation’s democracy.
Kalu, who is currently in Harare, Zimbabwe in his role as an observer of the African Union electoral mission, stated: “I must confess that I am highly delighted that our brothers have agreed to bury their differences and forge ahead in the interest of Igboland in particular and indeed the nation at large.
“It is human and natural for us to disagree and to agree, as politics is temporary while brotherhood is permanent.
“Indeed, this is a good omen for us all.”
In addition, the former governor, who is also the Coordinator of Njiko Igbo, extended his appreciation to all of the stakeholders that made the reconciliation a reality, most especially the clergy, while noting that unity is key for the survival of any society.
Kalu closed his conversation by appealing to politicians all over the country to play politics by the rules and not to overheat the polity.
