JUTH receives N160m hospital consumables from US group

The Jos University Teaching Hospital has received medical consumables and equipment worth N160 million from Medshare International, Atlanta, USA.
According to JUTH’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Edmund Banwat, the consignment is the second from the organisation that focuses on bridging the gap between medical needs and supply.
“The consumables were facilitated by Conscience International President, Dr. Jim Jennings,” Banwat told the News Agency of Nigeria in Jos on Tuesday.
NAN reports that Danny McCain, a professor of religious studies, at the University of Jos, and a friend of Dr. Jim Jennings, handed over the supplies to Banwat, on behalf of Conscience International.
Banwat said: “This is the third supplies donated to JUTH between July 2015 and now, as a result of advocacy and networking between the two organisations.
“Project C.U.R.E had similarly donated a container-load of medical consumables last year.”
Banwat promised that the supplies would be used to provide quality health service to the people.
Among the consumables are: laryngoscope sets, surgical microscopes, patient monitors, nebulizer and compressors.
Others include orthopaedic equipment and theatre linens.
