In line with his promise to ensure smooth handing over on May 29, President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday met behind closed doors with the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari.
The outgoing President, while conceding defeat in the March 28 presidential election, had promised the incoming President a smooth transition during a telephone conversation.
The meeting was the first between the two leaders since the conclusion of the presidential election.
State House correspondents were not briefed after the meeting held at the New Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa.
However, our correspondent learnt that President Jonathan may have commenced the process of briefing the President-Elect ahead of the setting up of Transition Committees on both sides.
