David Moyes, the soon-to-be Manchester United manager, confirmed on Friday that assistant manager, Mike Phelan, and goalkeeping coach, Eric Steele, are to leave the club.
“I would like to put on record the club’s thanks for everything Mike and Eric have done,” Moyes told United’s official website.
He added: “I will be looking to appoint my own members of coaching staff at some point in the future.
“However, I’d like to take this opportunity to give them both our best wishes for their future careers.”
Phelan and Steele were two long-serving staff under Sir Alex Ferguson, who announced this month that he is to retire from football.
