Intensifying effort to allay their fears following the ugly incidents that caused unfortunate deaths of people, the Deputy Governor of ImoState, Prince Eze Madumere, over the weekend visited the Hausa Community in Orlu Local Government Area.
Addressing the Hausa community at the Orlu Mosque, Prince Madumere said he has been mandated by Governor Rochas Okorocha to meet with them and implore them go about their normal businesses without any fear of molestation.
He reminded them how the Imo State Government rapidly responded to arrest the situation in collaboration with security agencies to ensure that peace, law and order were restored.
He also emphasized government’s readiness to deal decisively with any unscrupulous element who may wish to take advantage of the situation caused by one private home security man to cause disaffection in the system.
He added that, as Nigerians, every citizen has the right to live any where and wherever he wishes, stating that no State can ever get developed without having exchange with one another.
He emphasized that Imo State as a civilized State like other civilized nation, keeps to the creed of sanctity of life.
Prince Madumere said: “On the mandate of my leader, our detribalized Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, your friend, I have come to commiserate with you over the ugly situation caused by one man.
“I believe that, that incident would have been avoided.
“I know you also have grieving losses.
“We are brothers and must not allow this to weigh us down and therefore lose what binds us together.
“I am here to allay your fears and to assure you that normalcy has returned.
“You can see that the Brigadier-General of 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze is here and his men have been deployed.
“The Commissioner of Police is represented by his Deputy,
“The Director of DSS is also present with the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
“Be rest assured that you are safe.
“I am sure that my leader, our Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, would have loved to be here and I am sure he will still come to see you on his return.”
In the same vein, shortly after meeting the Hausa community, Prince Madumere proceeded to the Palace of HRH, Eze Michael Ojukwu of Umukaebu autonomous community in Akokwa, Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State, where he interacted with the people, including the youth and the community leaders.
Speaking at the different points, the people of Umukaebu commended the Government for their quick response.

The traditional ruler, Eze Ojukwu, decried the incidents, describing it as an abomination to their land since it is against their tradition for the blood of any stranger to be shed on their soil.
He therefore insisted that the land must be cleansed.
The representatives of the Hausa Community, led by Alhaji Hamza Abdullahi, were also present at the meeting as every group affected agreed to work together to bring back peace and ensure there is law and order.
