Ikeja Electric announces prolonged 16-day power outage, areas to be affected

Ikeja Electric Plc has announced prolonged power outages to span a period of 16 days between November 5 and 20, 2018.
According to information on the social media handles of the largest electricity distribution company in Nigeria, the prolonged outage is to allow for the replacement of obsolete equipment.
According to the company, the rehabilitation work will be carried out at Agege Injection Substation.
It entails the replacement of obsolete 33KV Transformer Control Panels and 11KV Switch Gears.
The following areas will be affected by the outage during the period: Akowonjo, Orile Agege, Dopemu, Maplewood Estate, Abattoir area, Oko-Oba, Labak Estate, Williams Estate, Oyemekun, Iju Road, Harmony Estate, parts of College Road and Iju.
Ikeja electric said: “We are working to ensure that the rehabilitation is completed as scheduled so power can be restored to the affected areas.
“All inconveniences are deeply regretted as we solicit your kind understanding.”
