The Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has approved the appointment of Prof. Muhammad Nasirudeen Maiturare, as the new Vice Chancellor of the Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai.
The appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of Prof. Ibrahim Kolo, which ends on December 31, 2014.
Presenting the letter of appointment to the new Vice Chancellor, the overseeing Commissioner of Tertiary Education in Niger State, Prof. Kuta Yahaya, said out of the three names sent, Maitutare emerged the best.
Yahaya said that the new VC was selected due to his vast knowledge.
He urged him to consolidate on the projects and policies of Kolo.
Accepting the letter of appointment, Maiturare pledged to take IBBUL to greater heights.
He said he would prove worthy of the great task given to him by the state government.
Maiturare is a Professor of Business Administration with the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.
He hails from Paiko in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.
He served in many capacities and held numerous positions in Abu, Zaria and he has been a member of the Governing Council of IBBU, Lapai from 2009 till date.
