I didn’t take PDP to court over Mu’azu’s appointment – Tukur

A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has said he did not take the leadership of the party to court over the appointment of Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu as his replacement when he resigned.

Bamanga said he was not a part to the suit that sought to unseat Mu’azu.

The suit has since been dismissed.

Tukur was forced out of office following the defection of five governors elected on the platform of the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.

Speaking with journalists on Wednesday through his lawyer, Adamson Adeboro, Tukur said he was joined as a defendants in the matter by the plaintiff, Aliyu Gubrin, who also joined Mu’azu, the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission as defendants.

Adeboro said he only filed a counter-claim on behalf of Tukur.

He said: “My client, Bamanga Tukur, was not the plaintiff in the suit filed to oust Adamu Mu’azu.

“As a matter of fact, he was joined as second defendant in the suit.”
