The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation met on Friday to review the recent developments in Nigerian football after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
This is the first meeting after the Aminu Maigari-led Board was reinstated by FIFA following the suspension of the Federation occasioned by what FIFA described as government’s interference.
The meeting was attended by 12 of the 13 members of the Executive Committee.
In attendance were Maigari, Barrister Chris Green, Chief Emeka Inyama, Yusuf Ahmed, Mohammed Ahmed Musa and Sulaiman Kwande, Shehu Adamu, Effiom Johnson, Deji Tinubu, Mike Umeh, Suleyman Muazu and Dilichukwu Onyendinma.
Briefing sports correspondents, Chief Inyama, said the committee affirmed Maigari as the President, adding that they have decided to put the House in order.
Inyama added that the12 members that attended the meeting would meet with the Sports Minister, Dr. Tammy Danagogo.
According to Inyama, the upcoming election into the NFF board has now been thrown open to any interested member of the football family.
Inyama said Maigari told the meeting that he was set to face any probe panel over allegations of financial malpractices.
Maigari told the meeting that he did not mismanage the funds of the Federation.
The next meeting of the Executive Committee comes up on July 24, 2014.
