The Deputy Speaker called for the assessment of the recommendations of the report clause by clause.
The House agreed with the first recommendation. But Hon. Kamil Akinlabi from Oyo State raised an issue with the recommendation two, which says that government should not approve subsidy to any other marketer.
He says therefore that the subsidy paid to marketers thus far is illegal and should return to N65 per liter.
The House turned down the motion.
On recommendation four, which says that the PIB bill should be forwarded to the House, Hon. Eze Chuban and Hon. Emmanuel Ejime, said that since the PIB was already before the House, it is needless calling for the executive to forward the same bill.
Hon. Ali Madaki, from Kano State, said that the PIB that was already in the House was dead on arrival.
Chairman Rules and Business Committee, said that the PIB is still alive in the House.
Ejime, therefore proposed an amendment to the recommendation four, that the NNPC should be unbundled for more transparency and that the PIB should go through speedy passage.
The motion for the amendment was seconded by Hon. T.J. Yusuf.
The motion was turned down by the House.
