The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, has charged the newly appointed Federal Permanent Secretaries to ensure the success of the change mantra of the present administration.
Oyo-Ita made the call when she received the newly appointed Permanent secretaries in her office on Monday.
She also urged them to “ensure cordial relationship with ministers to the improvement of service delivery and national development”.
The Head of Service of the Federation disclosed that in order to further prepare them for the challenges ahead, a retreat for all Permanent Secretaries will hold on November 21, 2015.
At the retreat, important issues of government will be discussed.
The theme of the retreat is: “The change agenda – the role of the Permanent Secretaries.”
Topics to be discussed at the retreat include the Public Procurement Act, service ethics, rules and regulations, fighting corruption in the service and anti-corruption laws and the role of anti-graft agencies such as ICPC, EFCC, and Code of Conduct Bureau.
Other topics to be addressed include relationship between Permanent Secretaries and Ministers and other official conducts.
Oyo-ita reminded the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries of the Service wide meeting of all Federal Permanent Secretaries coming up of on November 19, 2015.
