Suspected bandits on Sunday kidnapped the Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna State, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, and 10 other members of his household in Kajuru town of Kajuru Local Government Area.
The Kaduna Stàte Police Command spokesman, ASP Mohammed Jalige, has confirmed the development.
Julie, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna on Sunday, said the incident happened in the early hours of the day.
Jalige said the Second Class traditional ruler and the other victims were kidnapped in his residence.
The spokesperson, who did not give details of how the incident happened, said policemen had been mobilised to trail the hoodlums with a view to rescuing the victims.
“We have deployed our men to rescue them,” he said.
