Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has sent his deepest condolences to the Royal family, the Government Edo State and entire people of Benin Kingdom over the demise and transition to glory of His Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Governor described the king as a true African leader, an exemplary monarch who brought uncountable progress and ensured lasting peace in the Benin Kingdom throughout his reign.
Bello said the Oba, who lived a descent and honest life worthy of emulation, epitomizes the royalty and would be sorely missed adding that his demise has left a very big vacuum in which only faith in God would fill it.
He said: “The Oba lived a glorious era, he was a father, helper and a wonderful leader who demonstrated unique and exemplary qualities as an uncompromising and revered monarch. The country has, indeed, lost one of its best within the traditional institution.”
Bello noted, with high regard, the way and manner the late Oba religiously held and promoted the rich and famous cultural heritage of the Benin Kingdom, adding that Erediauwa was indeed a true reflection and custodian of the traditional institution of the Benin people.
The Governor prayed Almighty God to grant his soul peaceful transition as he joins his ancestors and also the Government of Edo State and entire people of Benin Kingdom the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
Governor Bello also prayed for the successful, long reign of the crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, Ehenede Erediauwa.
