Officers and men of the Nigeria Police have been admonished to serve with all their might and be dedicated to duty have a glorious carrier in the service to the Nation.
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, gave the charge on Monday at the pull-out parade for the State Commissioner of Police, Olusola Amore, held at the Police Headquarters, Ilorin.
Governor Ahmed, who was represented by his Deputy, Elder Peter Kisira, urged the officers and men of the Police Force to take a cue from the worthy legacies of the retired Police Commissioner who served the State and the Nation meritoriously and without blemish.
The Governor described Amore as an officer who contributed immensely, using his exemplary leadership qualities, simplicity, humility and standard model policing to the reduction of crime and criminal activities in the State.
He charged him to consider the State as his home, feel free to contribute in whatever way that could bring more progress and peace to the State.
Governor Ahmed noted that Amore had served the Nation selflessly and meritoriously for over 30 years and contributed his quota to its growth, development and progress.
Ahmed expressed joy that Amore joined the Police Force hale and hearty and was pulled out in like manner, thanking God for His mercy.
In his address, Amore thanked the State Government for its support and called adequate funding of the force by the various governments.
Amore also called for training, retraining and logistic support to the Nigeria Police Force to achieve the target of reducing crime to the barest minimum.
The programme was witnessed by members of the State Executive Council, Service Chiefs in the State, Special Advisers and Assistants and traditional rulers among others.
