German coach snubs Super Eagles

German Christoph Daum claimed he rejected an offer to replace Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles coach,
Daum, 60, made this claim via a German website, express.de on Tuesday, saying that he was approached to guide the African Champions last week.
The gaffer, who is currently jobless, has previously managed German sides Bayern Leverkusen, FC Cologne, VfL Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Turkish outfit, Bursaspor.
“I had offers last week to become coach of Nigeria,” express.de quoted Daum as saying.
The former Fenerbahce coach said he is not open to any coaching job until next season.
“By next year, I’ll take over a team,” Daum said.
Meanwhile, Keshi who guided the Super Eagles to their its AFCON 2013 win in South Africa and Brazil 2014 World Cup is currently out of contract and would still not have one as the team battles its Sudanese counterpart in a double header qualifier next month.
