Funeral ceremonies of First Lady’s mother commences October 31

The funeral ceremonies of late Madam Charity Onyekwululachiya Fyneface Oba, the mother of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, will commence on October 31, 2013.
The ceremonies, which will take place in Port Harcourt and Okrika in Rivers State, will attract dignitaries and people from all walks of life.
Oba, who was popularly called Mama Sisi, was a devout Christian who gave her life to the service of God, humanity and her family.
Madam Oba, who was known for her humility and charity, was an accomplished business woman.
On October 31, 2013, a brief Service of Songs will take place at 9am at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after which her body leaves immediately for her husband’s compound in Okrika, Rivers State.
On November 1, 2013 the lying-in-state will be at her husband’s residence at Ambemebiri, Okrika from 6am to 9am.
The funeral service will take place at 10am at the National Field, Okrika.
This will be followed by interment at her husband’s compound at Ambemebiri in Okrika.
There will be a reception for guests at the Palace of His Royal Highness, Sir S.P.U. Ogan, the Amanayabo of Okrika at 2pm, while the grandchildren of Madam Oba will host an evening reception at the National Field by 6pm, which will attract popular entertainers.
Late Mama Sisi, who transitioned into greater glory on July 22, 2013, is survived by many children, grandchildren, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is being mourned by many whose lives she transformed positively during her sojourn on earth.
