The Federal Road Safety Commission said three persons died and three others sustained injury in an accident which occurred on the Papa/Ilaro Road on Wednesday.
The FRSC Unit Commander in Ogun State, Fatai Bakare, told the News Agency of Nigeria at Itori that the accident occurred at about 11.45am in Oteyi-Oyeboku village, near Ilaro.
Bakare said the accident involved an articulated vehicle with registration no. XB 641 BBR which collided with a Volkswagen bus.
“The occupants of the bus were family members and friends who were heading to Lagos State from Ilaro,” he said.
The commander, who attributed the cause of the auto crash to over-speeding and careless driving, explained that the driver lost control and collided with the bus.
Bakare said that three male occupants died, while three others in the bus were injured.
“The corpses of the male victims have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital in Ifo while the injured persons are receiving treatment at the hospital,” he said.
