No fewer that four persons, including the brother of Prince Abubakar Audu, a former Governor of Kogi State, John Okpanachi, were killed during the local government election in Kogi State.
Okpanachi, a youth leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, was killed on Saturday in his home town, Alloma.
Those who shot him dead were dressed in police uniform, reports said.
Two others were killed during a clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and the ACN in Odu Ward 1 in Dekina Local Government Area.
The clash was over the distribution of electoral materials in the Ward.
On Friday, Adonis Omeh, a councillorship aspirant in Awo Ward 1, Ojoku District of Ankpa, was also shot.
Omeh was said to be returning from a meeting with some party members.
