FOSSCCIMA plans to provide 250,000 jobs – President

The Forum of South-South Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture says it is set to provide 250,000 jobs for youths in the Niger Delta.
The President of the Forum, Billy Harry, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, that FOSSCCIMA had mapped out strategies in that direction.
He said the South-South Chamber of Commerce had introduced a programme tagged: “RUMSSY,” meaning, “Registering Unemployed South-South Youths” for employment.
Harry said the body had invited 250,000 companies to participate in the 2016 FOSSCCIMA maiden trade fair in Port Harcourt to provide jobs for youths.
The forum president said FOSSCCIMA would register 250 unemployed Niger Deltans to occupy positions in the ongoing trade fair in a bid to ensure transparency and success of the programme.
Harry said RUMSSY would not only create opportunities for employment, it would also create opportunities for the youths to acquire skills to pursue their individual career.
He also pledged that the forum would continue to partner companies in the area to engage them in a bid to curb the level of unemployment among youths in the Niger Delta.
The FOSSCCIMA president said the maiden ongoing FOSSCCIMA Trade Fair in Port would attract patronage from across the West African sub-region.
