Federal Judges yet to receive four months salaries‎

Facts emerged on Tuesday that Federal Judges are yet to collect four months salaries despite being ‎on first-line charge.
Following this revelation, the Senate has mandated its Committee on Judiciary and Finance to investigate the‎ matter within one week.
The matter was brought to the attention of the Senate by the Deputy Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, who came through a Point of Order.
Na’Allah told the chamber that for the past four months, Federal Judges are yet to be paid.
Responding to the development, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, expressed dissatisfaction with this development.
Ekweremadu said it is worrisome ‎if it is the truth.
He added that the government should not put the judges in a situation where they will be tempted to receive gratification from litigants.
Ekweremadu urged government to ensure payment of Federal Judges before Monday.
