A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has regained his freedom.
Fayose, who was initially detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was remanded in prison custody by Justice Mojisoluwa Olatoregun last week Tuesday pending when he would fulfil his bail conditions.
Fayose was granted N50 million bail and a surety in like sum.
He was detained by the EFCC after he surrender to the anti-graft agency on October 16, a day after his tenure as governor lapsed.
Fayose was accused of N2.2 billion fraud by the EFCC.
Fayose’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, confirmed the released of his boss.
According to Olayinka: “Fayose just regained his freedom, he left Federal High Court, Ikoyi few minutes ago.”
