The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has approved the appointment of caretaker chairmen for the existing and newly created councils in the state.
Their names were yet to be released as at press time on Monday.
The new chairmen are to be sworn-in on August 5, 2014 at the Jibowu Hall of the Government House, Ado-Ekiti by 9am.
There has been controversy over the creation of 19 local council development areas by Fayemi.
Fayemi, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the last governorship election in the state, has been accused by the Peoples Democratic Party of creating the LCDAs to foment trouble for the incoming administration of Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose.
