The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State; former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi; and foremost pro-democracy and human rights legal luminary, Femi Falana, are among the prominent personalities that are expected grace the Anniversary Lecture/Awards ceremony of Global Patriot Newspapers in Lagos on November 23, 2017.
A statement released by Simon Ibe, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the Online Newspaper, said other leading figures billed for the event, which holds at 4Points By Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos from 10am are the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu; Group Chairman of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi; former Governor of Abia State, Senator T.A. Orji; Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina; and chieftain of the Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.
Equally expected at the event are former Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Daggash; former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Rufai Alkali; United States of America-based Pastor, Ghandi Olaoye; Pastor Ola Olukoyede; and the Are-Ona Kakanfo-designate, Otunba Gani Adams.
At the Lecture, to be chaired by foremost Pharmacist, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, the key issues of patriotism, the vast untapped potentials of Nigeria and the nagging question of national development will be vigorously x-rayed.
The programme, Ibe said, is expected to bring to the front burner of national discourse, the connection between patriotism, which presently seems in short supply, and the need to tap the presently vastly untapped potentials of the country, including the human, solid minerals, agricultural, marine, ICT potentials for the rapid development of the nation.
The theme of the Lecture is: “Patriotism, Untapped Potentials and National Development.”
The event would also be used to honour some individuals and organizations.
