Otunba Johnson Oyewole Fasawe, the popular business tycoon and Owo High Chief, has finally dumped his closest pal and confidant, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Fasawe is reported to have pitched his tent with the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, following his troubled relationship with Obasanjo.
So close to Abubakar is Fasawe now that he frequents Yola, the Adamawa State capital, to see Abubakar, the Turaki of Adamawa.
Insiders close to Fasawe, who used be a regular feature in the scheme of activities in Aso Rock during the Obasanjo regime, said that if the shrewd businessman is not in his country home in Owo, Ondo State or Abuja, he would definitely be with Abuja.
At times, he reportedly moves around with the ex-vice president whenever he goes.
During the recent convocation of Abubakar’s private university, the American University of Nigeria, in Yola, Fasawe was visible at the event and attended all the events with Abubakar.
Fasawe, it was learnt, is really enjoying his friendship with Abubakar.
Fasawe parted ways with Obasanjo when the former president discovered Fasawe’s sudden closeness to Abubakar, who was then being persecuted by the former president.
Fasawe eventually had to face the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, a move believed to have been instigated by Obasanjo.
