Fani-Kayode has met his bail conditions but yet to be released – Aide

A former Minister of Aviation and spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has met all the conditions for his bail over charges of corruption.
This was contained in a statement by Fani-Kayode’s spokesperson, Jude Ndukwe, on Monday.
Ndukwe said all the relevant documents for the bail have been duly filed and submitted at the Federal High Court in Lagos.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had dragged Fani-Kayode before the court for alleged involvement in the conversion of funds meant for the purchase of arms to personal use.
He was charged alongside a former Minister of Finance and Director of Finance of the PDPPCO, Nenadi Usman.
They were given bail in the sum of N250 million each and sureties in like sum who must have landed properties in choice areas of Lagos.
Ndukwe said further in the statement: “We are now waiting for the EFCC to verify the documents after which he would be released.
“Despite the fact that he has been locked up for the last 62 days he remains confident, strong, healthy and in very high spirits.
“He misses his family very badly, especially his five-month-old son, Aragon, and he looks forward to coming home to be with his family, friends and loved ones.”
