Ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare, is dead

Former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare, is dead.
Agbonavbare died in Spain following a battle with cancer.
He was flown to Spain about two weeks ago after several months of treating the ailment in his base in the United States of America.
The retired goaltender, who was diagnosed of cancer, was moved to a specialist hospital in Spain after spending five months in a Florida, United States of America hospital.
His friend and national team mate, Paul Okoku, said before he was moved to Spain that Agbonavbare was weak to the point his voice could scarcely be heard.
Agbonavbare was quoted to have said: “I was relieved of my job after I was diagnosed with cancer. My wife died of breast cancer three years ago and when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, I spent all the money I made playing professional football on her medical bills to keep her treatment uninterrupted.
“Consequently, I had to send my three children to Nigeria because my lethal health condition.”
