Tottenham vs West Ham
Venue: White Hart Lane
Kick off: 6:30pm
Tottenham will look to keep their status as the only unbeaten team in the Premier League after 11 games alive when West Ham visit White Hart Lane for the late kick-off today.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team have the best defensive record in the league thus far, which has seen them fail to lose a single match. But they have also struggled to win games and have drawn the most number of games in the league as well, which sees them in fifth place five points behind leaders Liverpool.
Spurs are without a win in their last four league matches and the Argentine manager will hope to end the streak against Slaven Bilic’s side. Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele have been passed fit after they picked up minor injuries while on international duty, while Harry Kane was omitted from England’s second game against Spain during the international break to allow him time to continue his recovery from an ankle injury, which will make sure he is fresh and ready for the clash.
Pochettino is still without Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela, who have both failed to recover from their respective injuries, which will see Eric Dier continue his role at centre-back alongside Jan Vertonghen. The manager will have the services of Moussa Sissoko, who has finished serving his three-match ban that was handed out to him for elbowing Bournemouth’s Harry Arter.
West Ham, on the other hand, are having a difficult campaign this time around and are currently in 17th place in the league table. They have lost six of their first 11 games and will be hoping to turn their form around against London rivals Tottenham on Saturday. They have improved since the start of the season losing just one in their last five, and Bilic will be hoping that they continue to improve as they seek to move away from the relegation battle.
James Collins and Diafra Sakho could be available for the trip to White Hart Lane but Bilic is likely to be without Winston Reid, who suffered a grade 1 hamstring injury during their 2-0 defeat to Everton.
Spurs won 4-1 at White Hart Lane last season, but do not have a good record against their London rivals winning only one of their last four home matches in all competitions, during which West Ham picked up two wins and a draw.
Tottenham Possible XI: Lloris; Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama; Sissoko, Dembele, Eriksen, Son; Kane.
West Ham Possible XI: Adrian; Kouyate, Reid, Ogbonna; Antonio, Fernandes, Obiang, Cresswell; Lanzini, Ayew, Payet.
