According to a statement, the states that would be affected are Benue, Kebbi, Gombe, Zamfara, Yobe, Jigawa, Borno, Katsina, Bauchi, Kano, Sokoto, Kaduna, Taraba and Adamawa.
Many towns are also expected to be flooded in these states.
