The representative of Ekiti South West Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Adedeji, is dead.
The lawmaker, who was shot in the head on Friday, was confirmed to have died in the early hours of Monday.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Adeniran Alagbada, confirmed the development to newsmen.
Alagbada said Adedeji, who was shot while driving in the early hours of Friday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, died at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Ido Ekiti, where he was receiving treatment.
He was first admitted at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital before being referred to FETHI.
He was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and hailed from Ogotun Ekiti in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of the state.
