Former Ekiti State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant, Peter Ayodele Fayose, has implored every stakeholder of the party in Ekiti State to work harder in order for the party to defeat the All Progressive Congress in the June 21, 2014 governorship election.
According to a statement on Saturday by his spokesman, Idowu Adelusi, the former governor at a meeting, which was well attended by the party stakeholders in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, called for unity of purpose among PDP members and prayed for the party’s victory.
He stressed that the party was more important than the issue of candidate or individual aspirations.
Fayose also urged the leaders to embark on aggressive grass root mobilisation, saying that winning the governorship election by the PDP was assignment for all the stakeholders to accomplish.
The former governor donated N1 million for the mobilisation work.
Former PDP Chairman in Ijero Local Government Area, Chief Micheal Adewumi Adeosun, commended Fayose for putting so much life and resources in the party.
Chief Adeosun urged the PDP leaders and members to support the party to win.
The meeting, which took place at the Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation office, was attended by former local government party chairmen, local government secretaries, treasurers, women leaders and other state officers of the party.
